Robert E. Clegg, Partner

Bob Clegg has had a long and successful business and political career. For more than 25 years he owned construction companies as well as companies supplying the construction industry serving the New England region. In 2000 he retired from the industry devoting full time to his elected office in the NH Legislature.

 

Bob has always felt it was important to be a good member of the community and over the years in his hometown of Hudson he has served as: town councilor, selectman, member of the Budget Committee, Building Board of Appeals, Economic Development Committee, and Charter Study Committee. In 1993, the Hudson Chamber of Commerce recognized Bob as its Citizen of the Year. He also has been recognized by Hudson Post #48 for his work on behalf of veterans.

 

During his four terms in the New Hampshire House of Representatives Bob served in several leadership positions including Speaker Pro Tempore, Assistant Majority Leader and Majority Caucus Whip. He has been named Legislator of the Year by the National Republican Legislators Association, and Home Builders & Remodelers Association of New Hampshire.

 

In 2002, Bob was elected to represent District 14 in the New Hampshire State Senate. He worked on some of the most difficult issues facing our state including the budget, education funding and energy. He has also served as Majority Leader of the New Hampshire Senate.

 

Bob has been recognized by the NH Healthcare Association for efforts ensuring the stability of long term healthcare in New Hampshire; NH County Corrections Officials for passing the “most powerful tool County Corrections has had in 5 decades”; NH Independent Case Management Association for leadership during the implementation of Medicare changes; the NH Association of Justice Civil Justice Award; and the NH Fire Academy Award.

 

In 2008, Bob retired from the NH Senate and now is a partner at Legislative Solutions.

Periklis Karoutas, Senior Manager

Periklis served as Vice President of Political Affairs & Public Relations at Carlisle Capital Corporation/WBIN-TV from 2011 through 2014. In this position he managed all public relations, internal and external communications for WBIN-TV and has also served as Executive Producer for all political programs and political debates. He was the recipient of several “Granite Mike” awards.

 

In 2010, he served as the Deputy Campaign Manager for the Bill Binnie for U.S. Senate Campaign where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the campaign including managing a team of 18 full-time staff and multi-million dollar budget.

 

Prior to that, Periklis was Senior Partner of Primary Communications where he managed the overall campaign strategy and operations for state and national clients including Mike Huckabee for President, Jeb Bradley for Congress, Bob Clegg for Congress and Russell Prescott for Executive Council.

 

From 2005 through 2007, Periklis served as the Projects Director & Senior Advisor for U.S. Representative Jeb Bradley where he advised Congressman Bradley on Homeland Security, small business and environmental issues.

 

Periklis is a 2015 class member of the New Hampshire Union Leader's 40 Under 40, and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of New Hampshire.

 

 

 

 

Debra J. Vanderbeek, Partner

In 2008, Debra Vanderbeek established Legislative Solutions with Bob Clegg and is a partner in the firm.

 

Prior to that, in 2007, Vanderbeek was named the State Political Director for Governor Mike Huckabee’s New Hampshire Presidential campaign. Debra was instrumental in the final four weeks in Iowa where she took a dream and made it a reality at the Iowa straw poll. The campaign was widely recognized as one of the most effective grassroots campaigns in the nation.

 

From 2002 through 2006, Debra served as Chief of Staff for Congressman Jeb Bradley (NH-01). Prior to this position, she managed Congressman Bradley’s successful 2000 campaign for the open congressional seat vacated by Sen. Sununu.

 

Prior to working for Congressman Bradley, Ms. Vanderbeek had broad and successful public policy experience in energy, environment, tax, agriculture and consumer issues. In 1991 she established a public affairs consulting firm specializing in providing issues management, coalition building, government relations, community relations and media relations services to clients. She managed major accounts and staff for clients and worked successfully with federal and state legislators, local public officials, government agencies and interest groups to enable clients to achieve their public policy goals. Vanderbeek also managed numerous statewide and municipal ballot questions across the country on a variety of issues.

 

Prior to starting her own firm, Ms. Vanderbeek worked for BMC Strategies where she directed major client accounts and successful political campaigns. Before joining BMC, Vanderbeek was a government relations representative for the Washington, D.C. office of a multinational chemical company.

 

Ms. Vanderbeek is a magna cum laude graduate of Suffolk University where she majored in government and minored in communications.

Leann C. Moccia, Senior Manager     

Leann began working on political campaigns in 2002, and has become one of the best-known political activists in the state.  Beginning as President of local civic groups, she later helped coordinate grassroots support for state and federal campaigns, including those of U.S. House, Senate, and President.  She has twice served as President of the largest women’s political activist organization in the state, and continues to serve as Director of a program to train New Hampshire women seeking election or appointment to public service.  In recognition of these efforts, she has been cited by NH Journal as one of the people you must know if you plan to run for office in the state. In addition to her political work, Leann provides lobbying services to Legislative Solutions.

 

For over ten years Leann has been a court-appointed and bonded legal guardian and conservator, and has acquired a working knowledge of the legal, financial, and administrative aspects of the guardianship function.

 

Leann spent twenty-five years in the computer industry, ending as Program Manager of new product introduction, and is thoroughly familiar with high-tech business practices and applied technology.
